I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, working in private practice in Bath. I am a certified member of the BACP (Registered member no. 374847) and a member of CAPPP.
Prior to training as a counsellor I trained as a musician (BMus (Hons) 1st class) and am the founder of Birch Tree Folk Choir. BTFC works to realign the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety while reconnecting through folk music to heritage, landscape, and community.
Born in Scotland, I grew up on site at a boarding school in England. Along the way I have worked in all sorts of different roles alongside all sorts of different people - from workshop leader to waitress, singing teacher to postman. I look forward to meeting you and building our therapeutic relationship together.

Many different things can bring us to counselling. Sometimes, having faced a situation or bottled up our feelings for too long, we reach a crisis point. Or a specific event can overwhelm us: a loss; the end of a relationship; a change in circumstances, employment, or health.
Sometimes we find ourselves replaying the same patterns in our lives over and over, repeating the same unhelpful behaviours. We can feel out of control and unable to cope. Sometimes we feel that stress, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem are getting in the way of living our lives as we truly want to. And sometimes, we just don't have the words for what is wrong.
At these times, and many others, it can be helpful to speak to a counsellor. I offer you a safe and confidential space to explore what is happening for you without judgement, to unpick and process it, and be challenged when old patterns begin to replay. In this way I will work to support you as you gain more awareness of yourself, and come to find your own solutions to what is holding you back.
Please get in touch to arrange an initial session, where we will discuss how counselling will best work for you. Drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call me on 07885 602055. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
